This dental practice is deeply rooted in the historic community of Quincy, Massachusetts, with a proud legacy of delivering exceptional care. In 2018, Dr. Courtney Sanders Knapik acquired the practice, named it CSK Dental, and began transforming it with a vision that honored its rich history while embracing a forward-thinking approach to modern dentistry.
The evolution into Smile Architects came when Dr. Knapik joined forces with her longtime friend and trusted colleague, Dr. Mohammad Mourad. Since first meeting in 2013, their partnership has been shaped by years of shared experiences, mutual respect, and a deep passion for advancing the art and science of dentistry. Together, they bring a synergy of expertise and a unified commitment to patient-centered care.
In the spring of 2025, Smile Architects will open its doors at a new, thoughtfully designed location at 106 Franklin St in Quincy. This modern facility reflects the practice's ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence, featuring state-of-the-art technology and a calming atmosphere. This move represents an exciting new chapter as we continue to provide the highest standard of care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Dr. Courtney Sanders Knapik, a proud Western Massachusetts native, grew up on her family’s alpaca farm, where she developed a deep sense of community and care for others. Initially aspiring to be a veterinarian, her path shifted during a high school orthodontic externship, sparking her passion for dentistry.
She graduated magna cum laude from Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, earning multiple awards for her excellence in crowns and veneers.
After gaining valuable experience as an associate dentist in Boston, Dr. Knapik embraced an opportunity to shape a practice built on personalized, patient-centered care in Quincy. Dr. Knapik is dedicated to providing the community with outstanding dentistry focused on comfort, trust, and education, transforming dental visits into positive experiences—often with a shared laugh.
An active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and various study clubs, Dr. Knapik stays at the forefront of dentistry through extensive continuing education and mentoring dental students.
Outside the office, she enjoys Marvel movies, long walks with her dog Mini (and her pink carriage), and taking humorous photos of her rescue rabbit Charlie.
Dr. Mourad comes from a family of ten dentists, making dentistry not just his profession but his legacy. A graduate of Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Mourad blends science, artistry, and compassion to deliver exceptional dental care.
With over a decade of experience, he enjoys all aspects of dentistry and digital smile design, using cutting-edge technologies like CEREC and Invisalign to achieve beautiful, long-lasting results. His innovative approach ensures every patient receives personalized and comprehensive care.
Beyond the dental chair, Dr. Mourad has mentored aspiring dentists as a clinical instructor and contributed to groundbreaking research in digital dentistry and orthodontics. His dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including the Quintessence Award for Research Achievement and the Geriatric Dental Medicine Award. Committed to treating every patient like family, Dr. Mourad prioritizes comfort, trust, and outstanding outcomes, while elevating the patient experience.

Lillian joined our practice in 2020, bringing her cheerful personality and warm demeanor to our team. After a successful 30-year career at State Street Bank, she has been a wonderful addition, making patients feel welcome and cared for. Lillian and her husband, Kevin, both grew up in Quincy, have called Weymouth home for over 20 years and are proud parents of two grown sons.
